Enough Already!!

Published by azwriter2008 at 10:07 pm under American Politics Edit This

Its been awhile since I posted, sorry for the spotty post lately but I felt the need to speak out on this issue. Lets recap, last week President Obama gave a speech to both house of congress about his “plan” for health-care. It sounded like the same old talking points to me but thats besides the point.  I want to touch on what happened during the speech and the media frenzy after the event occurred.  Did any of you watch the speech?  I watched parts of President Obama speech, which I thought was nothing more than a typical Obama speech with high flying rhetoric and not much detail.   I wasn’t all that interested in the speech until I heard Reprsentative  (R)  Joe Wilson call President Obama out on his own healthcare plan.  I don’t care who you are, you got to be pretty ballsy to call out the President on national TV!! I was stunned that someone had the guts to call him out.  I would like to applaud Mr. Wilson for calling it how he saw it.

Sure it wasn’t the best place to make such a statement but I think it is the job of the congress to keep the executive office in check and question their policies.  I think we need more of this in our congress to be honest.  Check out the House of Commons in the UK, they are much harsher on their heads of state than what Joe Wilson did!! I think the Democrats in Washington need to toughen up.  They are the party in power of both houses and the Presidency, they should expect to be taunted, and grilled by the opposition.  If you can’t handle the heat get out of the kitchen!! Learn to take criticism!

I am amazed how the media has turned this into a race issue.  The only ones making this case is the mainstream media who are very sympathetic to the Obama cause. i.e MSNBC  How is calling out the President on his healthcare plan make him a racist?  If you look at the bill it would allow illegal immigrants to get healthcare benefits.  Joe Wilson was telling the truth and President Obama was the one that was omitting the truth.  I wish the media would stop using the race card every-time someone opposes President Obama.  If someone was called a racist every-time you disagreed with the man, you could never question anything he.  This is not how a democracy should work!  Dissent is a vital part of our democracy and every voice needs to be heard no matter what.  The President isn’t making this a race issue, so I think the mainstream media should stop too… ENOUGH ALREADY!!!

I would like to see Obama, one on one with a member of the opposition who has actually read every single bill (there are so many) and have an honest debate. I mean, he is in constant campaign mode.

I also applaud Joe Wilson. I love the look on Obama/Biden and that stretched-faced hag, Pelosi. How dare anyone speak out against the Dear Leader. The liberal race-baiters keep trying to use that race-card and its overdrawn and declined.

    AZ,
I am so sick of Obama I don’t have words to express. That said, it is unclear to me how acting like Kanye West at an awards cerimony is anyway for a congress person to comport himself.

Rep Wilson is not bringing anythig of substance to the debate table. And he is not calling the president out on the fact that his reforms are not healh care reform but rather insurance refom. Designed to protect insurance copanies.

How is it that the rest of the industrialized world pays less for their care and covers everyone yet we pay more than all of them and cant cover everyone. Our care is not that much superior that it sould be unafordable. Logic has left the debate, its name calling and xenophobia that have prevailed. People are more concerned about whether an undocumented imigrant will somehow get coverage than they are if themselves or their fellow citizens will be covered.

Insurance companies do not improve the quality of our care-they dictate wich doctors we can use, and they profit by denying our coverage. I don’t see what purpose they serve… I can understand their value in providing suplements- like for pvt rooms in hospital or elective proceedurs - stuff like that. But at present they simply make basic health care more expensive.

    scotty,

Thats all I want, a HONEST debate lol.. Im so sick and tired of the political games that everybody plays in washington. Its so frustrating!! The corruption is so blatant its mind blowing.. Both parties are guilty of it.. but back to the joe wilson ordeal, this whole thing over race is ridiculous.. When i heard the liberal media play the race card i rolled my eyes. What joe wilson did is not racism! It was inappropriate thats its.

If people want to see real racism just look back to the slave days and the jim crow era. This was racism not this bs about joe wilson.

Joe apologized, his apology was accepted, and the House even gave him a good slap on the wrist to boot. The issue should be over, and it really is with the exception of our hyped up news media. Our country has too many pressing issues to focus on rather than this.

  5. davidrudeon 17 Sep 2009 at 1:32 am edit this

Ha you have to be pretty ballsy to yell something out anonomously and then go and apologize it right after….Wow what a super hero….Secondly, I doubt if you “just read the bill” that theres something in it about paying for Mexicans. I could be wrong. But I would reason that if Obama made a point to say that in his speech, that he would be able to back it up, and Im sure he thought of someone “just reading the bill”. Give me a break. Maybe you should take some more time off before writing your next post when you actually have something real to say. Ha.

The only reason this is still an issue on the news, and ever was, because the news is focused around gossip, and whatever appeals to shallow people, who just want to hear about gossip and celebrities. This has nothing to do with race on the surface, but it so obviousl that this guy, along with his constituency and all these Tea Party douchbags are obviously racist, and hate to see a black man President. The reason the guy got made is because he was talking about Mexicans which is racist right there towards Mexicans. But anyway. Im a white guy. I’ve heard all the racism in the world, from hillbillies and whoever, and I know who’s racist and who’s not. Now it’s not that Black people aren’t racist either, because many are, but this whole Hillbilly, Tea Bag thing is such obvious hillbilly racism that it makes me want to puke and it’s obvious, none of you can defend it. You can say that it’s about big government and health care and all this shit but you know that it’s not, so go ahead and be wrong I don’t care I have to go pound on my biceps now….

  7. davidrudeon 17 Sep 2009 at 1:41 am edit this

The Hillbillys make me want to fucking puke….The Republicans are making themselves more and more irrevelent with every passing day….The Hillbillies are getting fatter, and stupidier with every passing hour…..The black people in this country are looking at these hillbillies and thinking that all mother fucking crackers must be like this, which pisses me off because I never did anything to black people, but they hate me because of some of you idiots. Im gonna go get some rally’s…..Because some of you idiots are making me hungry….

    Tailback,

Tell me about it, if he wants to post it contradictory comments on here thats fine, its a free country its all good. I agree with you that there should be choas in the congress but I do support a more open lively debate in congress. I personally don’t have a problem with it, I think it would benefit to have more passionate debates in congress.

If he knew what he was doing, which I think he did was a very interesting political move and it has paid off. Like you said he has raised a grip of money in a short period of time. I hope this issue goes away soon, like skguitar said we have way more important issue to worry about than this joe wilson incident.

I stand by my comments, on the surface it’s not overt racism calling someone a liar, but under the surface it’s complete and obvious racism. Hey Im sorry you have your head so far up your conservative butt that you can’t see the world as clearly as I do, but keep writing your gay blogs, you and tailback, and act like someone cares, but I speak the truth and I don’t water it down, or dumb it down for any Conservatives, who are so Conservative, and they believe they need to be Conservative about thier country and thier finances and thier small biceps……Jesus Christ was no conservative earnest nerd like you nerds on here…..He was a Rude and Ruthless man and If he were here he’d put you faggots in thier place…. Hey Tailback your blogs are boring…

I think things are not being articulated clearly. I dont think anyne is saying wilsons actions are racist, I think they are saying he is racist and that his underling racism is what lead to his actions. There is a consiquential dfference.

  11. davidrudeon 18 Sep 2009 at 4:39 am edit this

I agree with what Maxdoubt is saying…

  12. azwriter2008on 18 Sep 2009 at 6:09 pm edit this

    Tailback,

I won’t let him, I can give two shits about what he has to say. He is nobody to me. If he feels like he has to call people names to make himself feel better he can go ahead… just do it on someone elses blog. I want to have a constructive debate not childish name calling and useless rants.

  14. maxdoubton 19 Sep 2009 at 4:41 pm edit this

    AZ,
I do not belive I said Joe Willson was a racist. I was commenting on how in this thread people are arguing about his actions being racist -I don’t believe that is the charge. I said ” I dont think anyone is saying wilsons actions are racist, I think they are saying he is racist and that his underling racism is what lead to his actions.” now dont ask me why people think he is racist ask the people who are claiming he is. But the action need not be racist to be motivated by racism is all I was pointing out.

As I said if acting like Kanye West at an awards cerimony is something people find acceptable, its pretty pathetic comentary on our system

    maxdoubt,

I hear what your saying. My thing is, where is this underlying racism that you speak of. That what Iam trying to figure out from your comments. How do you have underlying racism? What does it look like. Im just trying to understand where your coming from is all.

  18. maxdoubton 21 Sep 2009 at 6:56 am edit this

    AZ,
With all due resect sir, I have been commenting on peoples perseption of an event. When you say “where is this underlying racism that you speak of” I am not speaking of it, I am speaking to the charge made aginst him. Which is that he is a racist and his racism is why he behaved so poorly. The point being that it is incorect to claim that people are saying his action was racist. They are not saying what he did was racist they are saying he is racist. I don’t have a dog in this fight. I could give a shit about Wilson or Obama I think they are both criminals on differen sides of the isle. And if Wilson is a racist its most likley one in long list of things that make him a sorry SOB.
    Peace
