Is There A Better Stimulus Plan?
Is there a better stimulus plan than what is being debated on Capitol Hill right now? I believe there is in matter of fact. I heard a very good amendment that was submitted by Republican John Thune of South Dakota today. Mr. Thune proposed a tax rebate check for 182 million tax paying Americans. According to his stimulus plan individual taxpayers would receive a $5,000 rebate check if the make under $250,000 a year.
Married couples would receive a $10,000 rebate check. I don’t know about you but I believe alot of people would benefit from a $5,000 to $10,000 cash infusion right now. This would help stimulate the economy because the money would be in the hands of consumers, and get into the economy much faster than government spending. Since 2/3 of our economy is based on consumer spending it only makes sense to put money in the hands of consumers. This is a much better bill than what the Democrats put forward. Mr. Thune’s bill is short to the point, and helps fix the immediate problem. The Democrats way is not the only way!! Spread the word!
