Will Green Technology Save The World?
“Green technology” the silver bullet that is hailed as the savior of mankind is still in its infancy. Alternative sources of energy and cleaner ways of doing things are being developed everyday. My question to you is, will it work? I was thinking about this the other day so I figured I’d write about. I like the idea of “green technology” but I’m pessimistic about the ability of world leaders to implement the idea around the globe.
So far the leaders of the world have not done a good job with incorporating the use of green technolgy into their political agendas. The conflicting evidence makes it impossible for countries in particular developing ones to jump on board with the idea of using green sources of energy. I can’t say that I blame them for not being overly enthused about the idea. The economic superpowers of today got to where they are by using energy that is considered harmful to the environment.
That being said, implementing this new technology on a massive scale even here in the United States would be a massive undertaking. It would take trillions of dollars to overhaul our infrastructure of gas stations and coal derived energy to accommodate wind turbines and solar farms etc.. Where is the money going to come from to take on such a monumental task? Printing more money out of thin air is only going to bring down the value of the dollar even more. Will solar farms and wind turbines along with other green sources even produce energy for everyone’ s needs to be met?
For the last 8 years the energy policy of the United States has been non-existent. Will a Obama administration bring any leadership to this very important issue? I sure hope so because I think we are all tired of being held hostage by the Middle East. Come Jan.20 it will be time to put Obama’s vision into action.

It’ll help… most of the positives from green technologies won’t be easy to see for quite some time though, which will lead to criticism from skeptics. A ‘green’ United States will indeed be a hard thing to achieve…
I just wanted to leave a quick comment but it became a very long comment so I just used as a post for me. Like your post though.
