Shameful..
Why has our government turned its back on the sons and daughters who risk their lives for our country? The men and women serving in Afghanistan are fighting the real war on terror. Our soldiers fight Al-Qaeda and the Taliban everyday to ensure that we live in peace. I am grateful that we have people from our great nation that are willing to serve our country. 7 years into this war and we still haven’t had a decisive victory in Afghanistan, why is that?
This is because the Afghan mission has been under-funded, under-manned and under-equipped since the war started. It sickens me to know that we have the money and resources to deal Al-Qaeda and the Taliban a decisive blow, yet our government isn’t willing to pull the trigger. We have troops in the mountains of Afghanistan making living quarters out of shacks with no protection from bullets or the harsh winter elements. This is bullshit if you ask me! How do you expect to win a war without the resources to win one?
There are reports that the Taliban has gained control of some sections of Afghanistan, especially in the border areas. Without sufficient amount of troops this will be a cat and mouse game until one side decides to give up. I hope it’s not us. Our next President is going to have to take concrete steps to reverse the trend in Afghanistan. Our guys need help now Mr. President! Screw Iraq they don’t want us there anyways! Take a look at this video and see what are guys are putting up with! Its ridiculous I tell you.

I think it’s clear that our current President wants nothing to do with the office he holds. It’s certainly disgraceful, shameful, and completely unfitting of the office. Whoever wins this election will inherit more problems and messes than any other POTUS in history.
We are under funded and not equipped in Afghanistan because Bush decided to get revenge on Saddam Hussein. That’s why we’re in Iraq. No other reason. It’s disgusting. I’m glad that $%%#@ will be out of the white house soon. I think whoever wins this elections will take care of business in Aghanistan.

OMG!!! I agree with a comment left by threedegrees! Bush has given up on trying. He knows what needs to be done still, and his actions are shameful.
I know you don’t want us in Iraq anymore. I would say that nobody wants U.S. troops in Iraq anymore. I would agree with the strategy in place though, to withdraw troops based on conditions on the ground.
Reports are saying that conditions are good right now. That’s huge! They have announced the first stage of troop withdrawals. Good, and if it is still safe when they leave, bring more home. If things get worse, and they want our help, they need to start repaying us for the sacrifices America has made to help them and pay us for any help in the future. We need to stop funding the efforts, and they need to step it up in that department.
I agree we need more support for our troops in Afganistan. While terrorism might not be able to be completely defeated Iraq has shown that terrorism can be controlled. America may be able to control the terrorist independantly, but the whole world benefits from reduced terrorism. The rest of the world needs to contribute to the efforts of eliminating terrorism.
