Why we should elect Barak Obama (Part 3)
Who would you rather have in the White House? This is the question that many Americans are asking themselves as the elections draw closer and closer with each passing day. The decision is comparable to buying a car. Should I get the shiny new one or should I get the one that has been around the block a few times? I would argue that the American people should try something new. America has always been known for being bold and pioneering when it comes to everything. Why should who we elect President be any different? Mr. Obama is the embodiment the of the American dream. If you work hard and strive to be all that you can be, the sky is the limit. He came from a single parent home, which is not unheard of these days. Mr Obama is one of us, he wants to return the country’s luster of greatness that has been tarnished by this current administration.
To do this we have to invest in our country’s human capital. Mr. Obama’s domestic policy plans, namely national health-care will help us become more competitive in this global economy. The national health-care plan is a good idea if you look at it, political views set aside. The overall theory is the more people that are healthy, the more people there are going to available to work and contribute to the economy. If a person is sick they can not contribute to economic growth. So therefore healthy people promote a healthy economy. The national health-care plan will give people that do not have health-care, access to quality doctors the can diagnose and treat a problem before it gets worse. This in turn saves everyone money because the person will not be sick, and can continue to work to help our economy rebound. If we can afford to spend billions of dollars in Iraq, we can surely afford this health-care plan.
The privatized system that we have now has shown that it is unable to reconcile between helping people and their bottom line. Ultimately people in the health-care business are in it to make a profit. This means that they want to keep cost low and revenues high. This usually means less than stellar care and equipment. This is not even including the pharmaceutical companies that peddle their latest drugs to people that do not need them. Just take a look at the horrendous amount of law suites against these companies. This current administration has allowed private health-care companies to do what ever they want for the last 8 years. It is time for a change. Mr. Obama’s health-care plan will bring accountability and the voice of the people in the equation of health-care. Vote for change, and a strong healthy economy.
