Why we should elect Obama (Part I)
As we all know we have a historic presidental race in our country between two polar opposite candidates. In the blue corner we have the Democratic contender Barak Obama. In the red corner we have the highly touted man of “experience” John McCain. Which person is more qualified to lead this country? In this day in age I believe that Barak Obama is better suited to handle the multitude of problems that the United States is facing right now then John McCain. I believe this for a variety of reasons. Barak Obama in my view seems to have a more holistic view of the world, whereas McCain views the world through the same lens that President Bush sees the world. This viewpoint is outdated and has never been widely accepted anywhere in the world accept in the White House. The world is in agreement. All you have to do is look at the rock-star type receptions he is recieving overseas.
The United States needs a Commander and Chief that can look at problems from different angles and then make a sound decision based on the facts. Barak Obama in my opinion is the best person suited for our most powerful office. The vision he lays out for this country is exactly what this country needs right now. Mr. Obama’s plan to diversify our energy supply is an excellent example of his ability to examine a problem and then formulate a answer to that problem. The United States over-reliance on imported oil is hemorrhaging our economy to death. As of today the price of crude stands at $128.42 a barrel. Can anyone honestly expect our economy and our way of life to survive at these prices? The high price of crude effects everything from the food to transporation. The price of crude will NEVER go below $100 a barrel again! If we want to preserve our standard of living, we need to do something about this crisis right now. We can ill afford to let the status quo continue. Investing in renewable resources just makes economic sense! Mr. Obama’s view on this is the correct one and we the people of this great nation should do everything in our power to ensure that our energy independence becomes reality. I invite anyone to counter my agruement because I believe that a healthy debate over the issues is a good thing in this beautiful country we call America.

You speak of Obama’s vision. What is it? I’ve never heard him clearly state what his vision is - OR how he intends to obtain it.
What is Obama’s plan to diversify our energy? The only plan he has offered is the “windfall tax” on “big oil” but he has stated that money would be used on social programs. He has offered no alternative. And, this tax certainly does not produce new energy in any form.
Obama also made clear he is quite content with $4 a gallon gasoline - he only wish it had risen at a slower rate.
When Bush signed the revoked the Executive Order banning offshore drilling, the price of gas dropped $9 in 10 minutes. With the push to drill the cost continues to drop.
You speak of Obama’s sound judgement. You mean like his admission that the troop surge worked, but even knowing this he still would not have supported it?
What about his sound judgement related to his close associates Rev Jeremiah Wright and his friend Bill Ayers the terrorist (seriously condensed list here).
I could respond to much more found in this article but this should satisfy your request for rebuttals for now.
I look forward to an on going discussion with you.
